These 3 secrets of meditation will transform your life

2. Create a sacred space
You don’t want to be fidgeting about in the middle of your meditation session. There are a few things you want to make sure are just right before you start.
Although in the advanced stages you can meditate just about anywhere, in the beginning you want to create a sacred space for yourself to do your meditation. This is because some days you will be ready and inspired to meditate, but some days you won’t. Your sacred space will be your inspiration then.
Pick a room or part of a room which is away from electrical and electronic devices, quiet, clean, and free from disturbing sounds. Have your favourite cushion or chair there and use it exclusively for meditation and nothing else. Have some flowers or a oil vaporiser or anything else that would help you relax. I don’t recommend incense as you don’t want to end up coughing in the middle of your meditation session.
You can even set up a shrine and arrange it with things like pictures, meditation beads, etc., that will aid your meditation.
You can also have some soft meditation music playing in this area all the time so that whenever you walk past it, it will remind you of the meditation and that you’re meant to chill out! It will even serve as an area where you can go and relax when you’re stressed out.
You can also have a few books that you can read for inspiration. I recommend the age old classic ”Bhagavad Gita – As It Is’
When you’ve got something set up and are ready, it’s time to move to the next step – the actual meditation.
I need to join a group to practice hara Krista in live in Exeter
Hi Josephine. That sounds great! I will email you details of the group in Exeter, and email them your details too!
I’ve been meditating for the past 10 months I can assure people this does work . My mind used to be the Brands Hatch cars going around in all directions. Since practising meditation I’ve become a lot less stressed and happy myself. Many thanks Jeff Marshall.
Thanks for the great feedback Jeff. Glad it’s working for you! I’ve been meditating for the last 7 years and I can fully qualify it works too!
Hi,I’ve been meditating for the last 6 mths or so and although it took some time to get used to it..it most definitely works, it has changed my life for the better, that and exercise go hand in hand and its part of my daily routine.
Hi Ingrid, thank you for getting in touch. Yes, meditation definitely works – I’ve been doing it for 15 years! I think if you’re into it, the Be a monk challenge may be a good next step. Have a look here – https://www.krishnawisdom.com/beamonk-3/
